🚨 Tragedy at St Kilda Boat Club 🚨
A long-standing member of the St Kilda Boat Club has sadly passed away after being pulled from the marina on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the northern suburbs club after the 77-year-old Para Hills man was discovered in the water near his catamaran. A maintenance officer spotted the man and rushed to pull him from the marina, bringing him to the nearby boat ramp where police and paramedics attempted to revive him.
Despite their efforts, the man was later pronounced dead in hospital.
According to 7NEWS, the man had been a familiar face at the club since the 1980s. It’s believed he was working on his vessel when the incident occurred.
SA Police detectives attended the scene and are preparing a report for the coroner. While there were no witnesses, police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
