A dust storm has rolled through parts of South Australia this morning, just ahead of a cool change thatβs expected to bring rain and gusty winds across the state later today.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting up to 5mm of rain in some areas, but the wild weather is bringing more than just showers. A Road Weather Alert has been issued for Adelaide, warning of slippery conditions and urging drivers to slow down, turn on their headlights, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
Meanwhile, a Fire Weather Warning is in place for the Mid North fire weather district. Extreme Fire Danger is forecast for the region today due to warm, dry conditions and strong north to northwesterly winds expected to peak this afternoon. A milder change is expected late this afternoon or evening, bringing isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm.
Authorities are urging residents to review their Bushfire Survival Plans and keep up to date via local radio, the CFS website (www.cfs.sa.gov.au), and the BOM (www.bom.gov.au).
So itβs a mixed bag across SA today β dust storms, wind, fire danger and a chance of rain all in the mix.
Stay safe out there and keep it locked to BitWaves for the latest updates.
