Australasian Turtle Symposium
The Australasian Turtle Symposium is a two-day gathering for people interested in turtle conservation, research, care and management. Hosted by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, the symposium is designed to bring together people from different backgrounds to share knowledge, learn from one another and strengthen connections across the turtle-conservation community.
Participants are expected to include First Nations representatives, community volunteers, environmental organisations, government staff, researchers, students, wildlife carers, experienced turtle keepers, breeders, landholders and policy makers. While the program is mainly focused on freshwater turtles, the organisers welcome people with a broader interest in turtle conservation. The main conference runs through Monday and Tuesday morning, with an optional field trip planned for Tuesday afternoon. Talks, posters, display tables and short workshops form part of the program.
