Trucks on Tour
Trucks on Tour is a free City of Onkaparinga community event giving children and families the chance to get up close to the large vehicles that help build, maintain and protect the community. Young visitors can climb into driver’s seats, explore how vehicles work and watch demonstrations throughout the day at Wilfred Taylor Reserve.
Council vehicles will be joined by organisations including SAPOL, emergency services and SA Power Networks, allowing families to meet the people who operate specialist vehicles and learn about their roles in community safety and essential services. Horns, lights and demonstrations create a lively atmosphere for most of the event. From 1 pm to 2 pm, a sensory hour provides a quieter experience with horns and loud devices silenced, demonstrations paused, and a sensory refuge and quiet activity zone available.
