Illuminart: Light Up HMAS Whyalla

The weekend kicks off with Illuminart: Light Up HMAS Whyalla on Friday 7 July, followed by the Salty Sea‘esta twilight market on Saturday 8 July.

The crew from Illuminart are back, providing a bright and sparkling program of animated projections on the side of the ship, creating an expansive and glowing area much larger than a cinema screen.

The dramatic mid-winter show is designed to get a crowd together for a bright, colourful and invigorating injection of creativity, combining history, humour and warmth into a single event, celebrating local artwork. These creative stories will depict South Australia’s heritage in a joyful way, by appreciating the beautiful and interesting place in which we live.

Gates will open at 5.30pm, with the projection screening from 6.30pm – 8.00pm. Bring along a chair, torch and rug up with a blanket. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, or BYO.

With limited parking onsite, there will be overflow parking at GFG’s external admin carpark, with a shuttle bus to run you to and from the event from 5.30pm onwards.
