South Australia's H5 bird flu outbreak has taken another concerning turn, with a red fox found at Osborne in metropolitan Adelaide suspected of carrying the virus. The fox was found in dunes and later euthanised, with samples sent to the CSIRO's Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness for confirmation. 60 Arrested in Statewide Domestic Abuse Crackdown
South Australia Police have arrested 60 alleged domestic violence offenders during the latest Operation Storm Days of Action. Around 360 police officers targeted 367 offenders and attended 414 addresses during the two-week statewide operation. Police laid charges relating to 122 offences, executed 17 domestic abuse-related warrants and made 65 referrals to support services and behaviour-change programs.
Woman Arrested Following Adelaide CBD Apartment Fire
An 18-year-old woman is expected to be charged with arson following a fire at an apartment complex on Old Treasury Lane in Adelaide's CBD this morning. Police helped evacuate residents, with three officers treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters contained the blaze to one apartment, although neighbouring units suffered smoke and water damage. Fire cause investigators are examining the scene.
Police Warn of Rise in Online Image Abuse Targeting Young Males
SAPOL is warning South Australian families about an increase in online image abuse and sextortion, with 297 matters involving SA victims reported during 2025–26, up from 268 the previous year. Male victims increased from 170 to 220, while the number of male victims aged under 18 rose from 33 to 54.
